BRIDGET HANNA

Bridget has dedicated over 40 years of service to the Ascension Parish Clerk of Court. Commencing her journey as a Court Minute Clerk, she progressed to the role of Supervisor in 1989, and subsequently assumed the position of Chief Deputy Clerk in 2004. Notably, on February 2, 2015, Bridget made history as the first female Clerk of Court in Ascension Parish. She has since been re-elected unopposed in October 2015, October 2019, and most recently in October 2023, securing a new four-year term.

Bridget holds the esteemed title of Certified Clerk of Court and is an active member of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association, where she previously served two terms as President of the Board of Directors. Additionally, she is a Certified Elections Administrator (CERA), the highest professional achievement for election officials in the country.  She is affiliated with various organizations such as the International Association of Government Officials, The Election Center, Property Records Industry Association, East Ascension Rotary Club, Ascension Chamber of Commerce, and the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce. She holds the position of President on the Ascension Parish Board of Election Supervisors and plays an active role in the United States Election Assistance Committee Local Leadership Council and the Voting System Commission for the Louisiana Legislature. Bridget's engagement further includes serving on the Gonzales Area Foundation board and participating in various committees for the 23rd Judicial District Court and the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association.

A 2006 graduate of Leadership Ascension, Bridget's accolades include the Chamber of Commerce Individual of the Year Award and the Ambassador of the Year Award in 2009. She was once again recognized as the Chamber of Commerce Individual of the Year in 2018. Furthermore, her dedication to service earned her the titles of New Rotarian of the Year in 2011 and Rotarian of the Year by the East Ascension Rotary Club in 2023. In 2020, she was honored as a female "Mover & Shaker" for Ascension Parish. Past leadership roles include serving as Chairwoman for the Ascension Chamber of Commerce and President of the East Ascension Rotary Club.

Bridget, who has lived in Ascension Parish her entire life, resides in Saint Amant with her husband, Kevin Hanna. They take pride in their family, which includes four children and nine grandchildren. They are members of  Holy Rosary Catholic Church and are deeply rooted in their community.
