Bridget has been employed by the Ascension Parish Clerk of Court for over 38 years. She began her career with the Clerk’s Office by working as a Court Minute Clerk, was promoted to Supervisor in 1989, and Chief Deputy Clerk in 2004. She was sworn in as Clerk of Court on February 2, 2015 becoming the first female Clerk of Court in Ascension Parish. She was unopposed in October 2015 and again in October 2019 and elected to serve a new four year term.
Bridget is a Certified Clerk of Court and a member of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association, presently serving on the Clerks Association Board of Directors as President. She is a member of the International Association of Government Officials, The Election Center, Property Records Industry Association, East Ascension Rotary Club, Ascension Chamber of Commerce, and the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce. She is President of the Ascension Parish Board of Election Supervisors. In addition, she is serving on the United States Election Assistance Committee Local Leadership Council, and the Voting System Commission for the Louisiana Legislature. She serves on the board of the Gonzales Area Foundation and on numerous committees for the 23rd Judicial District Court and the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association.
She is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Ascension. In 2009 she received the Chamber of Commerce Individual of the Year Award as well as the Ambassador of the Year Award. In 2011 she was named New Rotarian of the Year by the East Ascension Rotary Club. In 2018 she was again honored to receive the Chamber of Commerce Individual of the Year Award. In 2020 she was recognized as a female "Mover & Shaker" for Ascension Parish. She is a Past-Chairwoman for the Ascension Chamber of Commerce and a Past-President of the East Ascension Rotary Club.
A life-long resident of Ascension Parish, Bridget is married to Kevin Hanna, and they are the proud parents of four children and nine grandchildren. They are members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and reside in Saint Amant.
